Cygnet Perfumery's Guide to the Mornington Peninsula: A Sensory Journey

Cygnet Perfumery was founded in a small coastal town in the enchanting Mornington Peninsula, on Boon Wurrung land, nestled along the pristine coastline of Victoria, Australia. Many of our fragrances were inspired by the breath taking landscapes that surrounding us. So long over due, we have crafted a fragrant itinerary that will take you on a scented journey through the Mornington Peninsula, guided by our extrait de parfums.

 

CONIFER
There is one special place that inspired Conifer - a sensory haven that changes with the seasons. Step into the realm of the majestic Montgomery pine trees that grace the shores of Shoreham's The Pines. Conifer captures the essence of this cherished place, where 250 towering pines crown a hill overlooking the beach.  After a walk along the beach, head over to Bass Surfboards Shoreham Co Op for a coffee and a bite to eat. If you've timed it well, enjoy the Shoreham Market every third Sunday of the month. If you are a camper, Shoreham campground is a peaceful spot to stay amongst beautiful native flora and fauna right on the beach.

PRIMAVERAL
Experience the symphony of flowers and the subtle sweetness of honeycomb with Primaveral. This fragrance is an ode to the vibrant gardens that bloom in the Springtime. Surrounded by a charming garden and blessed with breath taking ocean views, Heronswood invites you to embark on a sensory journey. Pack a picnic basket with local produce from Torello Farm Gate, breathe in the heady scent of Spring, and let Primaveral awaken your senses. Don't forget to visit the nursery on your way out if you are feeling inspired to add some beautiful new plants to your garden / balcony!

 

PLEIN AIR
Celebrate the essence of high summer with Plein Air, an olfactory tribute to the rural pastures that embrace our perfumery. Take a scenic drive through the picturesque Flinders, savouring the beauty that unfolds around you. Stop at the Flinders Bakery for lunch and the most delicious organic sourdough bread. If the weather is warm have a dip in the ocean, and enjoy some freshly shucked Flinders Oysters on the pier. As you head towards Red Hill, a hidden gem awaits—Red Hill Lavender Farm. Lose yourself in the fields of blooming lavender, where the soothing aroma of this purple treasure lingers in the air, harmonizing perfectly with Plein Air.

Embark on a literary journey through the Mornington Peninsula as you explore its charming bookshops, and let the fragrance of Antiquarian transport you to the captivating world of old pages and treasured stories. Antipodes in Sorrento is a book haven, and hosts various exhibitions and events including a Cookbook Book Club! Or make your way to Books by the Bay, a true treasure in the realm of old-fashioned secondhand bookshops. This literary sanctuary embraces the nostalgia of classic literature and the aroma of well-worn pages that inspired our perfume Antiquarian. 

 

NOCTURNE
Enjoy the beauty of a starlit evening with Nocturne, a sultry deep fragrance perfect for an evening out. We recommend Tedesca Osteria - offering a fixed menu dining experience from seasonal produce frown at their very own biodynamic farm. Two other delicious experiences can be fount at Laura - Point Leo Estate's fine dining restaurant, and Ten Minutes by Tractor who have mastered the art of fine wine & gastronomy. To expand the evening, have a look at the program for MOTH (Music on the Hill) or attend a concert at the Beleura House.

 

 

VIGNERON
Engage your senses in the region's esteemed wineries, which inspired our fragrance Vigneron that explores the alchemy of wine making from the vines to the barrel. Delight in the cool-climate wines that the Mornington Peninsula is renowned for, expertly paired with exquisite dishes celebrating local produce. For a small and intermate cellar door with delicious hand crafted wine, stunning views and the option to BYO picnic we adore Kerry Greens in Red Hill South. If you fancy a walk through a sculpture garden and enjoying local produce with your wine, visit Montalto Vineyard. Or, if you would like to try a a variety of wines head down to Merricks General Wine Store who are home to Elgee Park and Baillieu Wines, and have expertly curated a selection of some of the best wines on the Peninsula.
